Lovely new salad and juice bar in the centre of Reading, near the station. There is bar-style seating, though most people take away.
The owner Brian is very friendly and open to new ideas, so do make suggestions as to what you think would work. Let's encourage him to make sure one of the soups is always vegan & dairy-free, and suggest ideas for the salad selection (I reckon something with beans/lentils in would be nice).
You can get a large take-away salad bowl choosing the ingredients you like best, and for once there are some posh veggie ones, such as asparagus, mango, pine kernels, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes and olives. £3.70 per bowl.
Fresh juices can be vegetable or fruit or both; smoothies are pick and mix from a wide range of fruits and can be dairy-free with soya milk and sorbet. Organic wheatgrass shots are £1.50, and other juices and smoothies are £2.30 medium, £3.20 large (12oz), though a fresh orange, apple or carrot juice is only £3 for 12oz. Fruit salad is £1.30, so is cheaper than at the supermarket it seems!
A New Year meal deal is very good value for a "10 Veg" salad box, fresh fruit and a smoothie for only £3.95.
They brought in soup when they realised it is cold in Winter in Reading, and this is only £1.50 a cup with a wedge of bread. There are always 2 home made vegetarian soups, and you'll need to ask and encourage about vegan ones. They do run out early though - by 1:15pm on the Friday I visited!
